Arctic Ice In Death Spiral (News)

More than 2.5 million square kilometres
of the Arctic Ocean have been opened
 up to the heat of the 24-hour summer sun.

At present we have warming in the Arctic at at least twice the global rate.
This warming is being accelerated by the sea ice retreat in a process of
positive feedback. As the sea ice melts and gives way to water, the surface
albedo (reflectivity) changes, more heat energy is absorbed which enhances
the warming and melting. The whole region is flipping into a hotter state
- and we could ultimately have an ice-free Arctic - melting permafrost would
release vast quantities of methane - and it would be the end of the world as
we know it.

The world warmest globally recoded years are 1998 & 2005, the current year 2010 on the track to join this warmest year table. On the other hand Europe and other part of the world facing colder-than-normal winter this year. 

The word Global warming creating confusion in mind. Global warming one of the hottest topic now a days. According to the 2007 Fourth Assessment Report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), global surface temperature increased 0.74 ± 0.18 °C (1.33 ± 0.32 °F) during the 20th century and different Climate model projections summarized in the latest IPCC report indicate that the global surface temperature is likely to rise a further 1.1 to 6.4 °C (2.0 to 11.5 °F) during the 21st century. If average surface temperature of the earth is increasing then why Europe and other part of the world in 2010 experiencing colder-than-normal winter? Peoples are thinking whether the Global Warming threat ends?

Global Warming refers to changes in frequency and intensity of extreme weather events (heat waves, high precipitation, floods, droughts, Record Snowfall). Some of these extremes weather events recorded in 2010

• Unusually heavy monsoons in Pakistan that brought the worst flooding in that country's history.
